The Jardin Alpin located within the historic botanical gardens in Paris, is one of my favourite garden. Early morning hours during the week is one of the best time to visit as you might have the garden all for yourself. Created in the mid seventeenth century known then as the mountain garden, the Jardin Alpin with its plant collection gathered from the mountainous regions of France and around the world was reshaped in the early thirties. A special climatic environment was ingeniously designed to host both the hot and dry Mediterranean climate and that of high altitude cold climate. So here we are in the higher altitude of the garden recreated for mountainous plants.
