Home to fifteenth century German born master painter Hans Memling, Bruges is a picturesque medieval town with cobbled lanes and romantic canals, lined with Gothic Rennaissance buildings historic churches and almshouses. Bruges is definitely worth an overnight stay to fully enjoy its bygone charms. Avoid summer as the place can get overcrowded with tourists. Spring is one of the best season to come and even winter can be quite fun when you probably have the town to yourself.
