Just above the Cour Visconti are galleries where visitors come to see Leonardo’s enigmatic painting the Mona Lisa and now on the ground floor is home to the prestigious Islamic collection of the Louvre. Inaugurated this week the new building is recognizable through its unique wavy metallic structure designed by three architects Mario Bellini, Rudy Riciotti and Renaud Piérard. It will be open from September 22 … another great visit when coming to the Louvre.
And here are more images of the new Islamic gallery especially created to house the museum most beautiful collection.
